Safelists are lists which contain email addresses of individuals who have agreed to receive your advertisement. Safelists are “safe” because they provide a place for people to advertise without fear of being accused of spamming.

Spamming or sending unsolicited email can get you into all sorts of trouble with your Internet Service Provider if enough people complain.

Safelists have also been defined as being like a club where the members are typically webmasters and Internet marketers. They are people who have websites that they want others to visit, products they want to sell, or affiliate programs they are promoting.

Safelists are not considered to be among the top marketing methods in use such as Pay Per Click, article marketing, solo ads, ezines and so on. They are good to use as a list building tool because they are populated with internet marketers, however they are far from perfect and many Internet Marketers feel they are useless.

They are loved by some, hated by others and almost unheard of outside of the online marketing community. As with most other Internet Marketing strategies safelist marketing can be productive if it is done correctly.

There are basically two types of safelists. First there is the regular, everyday, run of the mill type where you can send to other members and they can email their offers to you. Whether you choose to look at the email is entirely up to you.

However if you want the other members to open your email advertisements it might be a good idea to scan through your inbox and open the ones that interest you. While a regular safelist allows you to post during a certain time frame, such as every 2 or 3 days, they also offer other types of advertising.

You can usually purchase banner impressions or text ad spots to be shown in the member’s area. You can also purchase contact solo ads which are sent out to the contact email address of the entire member list which can be very effective.

The second type, and more effective of the two, is the credit based safelist program. These programs require members to accumulate and spend credits, or points, in order to send their ads to the list. The primary method of earning credits is reading the emails sent to your list address by other members and clicking on special credit links contained in these messages.

For this reason, the ads you send to credit-based lists are more likely to be opened. Some lists offer the same amount of credits in every email you read, some offer a random amount of credits, and some only offer credits in random emails. Most programs offer the occasional bonus credits which can get you anywhere from tens to thousands of credits at a time.

Most of these lists, if not all of them, allow you to purchase credits, too. This can happen in the form of an upgrade or a straight out purchase. These credits are primarily used to send your ads to the safelist, but some lists allow you to trade your credits for banner impressions and text ads.

There are a few variations of credit-based safelists. In addition to the standard model mentioned above, there are sites that require you to log in to view ads rather than having them mailed to you, and sites that require you to wait for a timer to count down before you earn credits.

These days there are a lot of safelist hosting companies that make it easy for anyone to start a safelist program very cheaply. This usually results in communities on the Web with dozens, even hundreds of cookie-cutter safelists that look nearly identical; they usually have no graphics and some meaningless text and only a couple of hundred members.

These should be avoided because they are only a waste of time. If you decide to include safelist marketing as a tactic in your internet marketing strategy be careful which list providers you choose and this will help make your safelist strategy a success.

Whether you are new to Internet Business or you are an experienced operator, you will no doubt have read the phrase “The Money Is In The List”.

From my experience in various internet businesses, this is absolutely the case. If you dont have a correct targeted list to promote your products and services to then your business will never get off the ground. You will be forever wasting your money on fruitless advertising that will not work.

The question then arises: How do I create a list of targeted people who will BUY my products or services? Note, we are in business here, the aim is to get people on your list that are proven buyers of products or services that are similar to the ones you are providing.

Many new comers to internet businesses try and email as many people as they can, a sort of scatter gun approach, hoping that some of the recipients of their emails will buy their products. In my experience this just does not work.

Even though you may be using opt-in lists bought from the numerous lead companies out there today, it very seldom works.

The best list is one that YOU create yourself, using your own products or services. In this way you know you have a quality list of people who have directly enquired about your products.

One method many internet businesses use to get a list of people interested in their products is to give free products or ebooks away to entice people to sign up at their website.

This can be very effective in getting a lot of people to sign up at your website . However, you need to ask yourself, is this list really comprised of people who will BUY my products? In my experience, giving things away for free results in a large list of people who want something for free.

Makes sense doesnt it. Ive used this method before and in my experience it is far inferior to the method Im going to concentrate on below:

What you really need in your opt-in list to grow your business is a list of people that have bought something from you, it really doesnt matter for what amount, it could be $2. The main difference here is that they have gone to the trouble to take out their credit card and actually BUY something from you.

This action of purchasing a product from you makes them worth their weight in gold.

You see it is far better to have a list of 500 people who have bought from you, then have a list of 5,000 or even 50,000 who have never bought from you.

Your objective here is to get your prospect to buy a product, it doesnt matter what, the cheaper the better in my experience. Then you can up sell higher ticket items because you have established trust with your prospect and now they are your customer.

This action of up selling is where you make your money dont forget it is going to cost you money to build that list, it wont come easy and it may take a while, but it is definitely worth it!

So lets have a look a how you can build that all elusive opt-in list of buyers:

Collection of data:

The most obvious place to start is usually with a lead capture or splash page. This is where you encourage your prospect or visitor to your site to buy the, preferably, cheap product you have for sale, lets say just $2. You should be able to send your product electronically as charging $2 you dont want to be mailing it.

There are many examples of lead capture or splash page you can see on the internet, they all have sales copy and inducements. My advice would be to pick the features of the best ones and preferably get a sales copy professional to do the wording for you.

Similarly there are many products available for you to choose. If you want a completely original product then my advice would be to write your own ebook! This is not as hard as it sounds, there are a huge number of resources on the internet that can help you.

Now, what information are you going to collect? The longer the form the less likely your prospect will fill it in and press the submit button. Recent surveys suggest asking for only the first name and the principal email address. The reason for asking for the prospects principal email address is that many people use services like hotmail, aol, yahoo for secondary emails and quite often they only look at these emails periodically.

You MUST get your prospect to read your emails thats why you should ask for their primary email address.

Next question, now you have captured the name and email address, where are you going to save it and how are you going to use the information?

Autoresponders are perfect for this and Aweber is the autoresponder most internet marketers use.

The autoresponder will automatically save the information from your capture form on your website and then automatically send out pre-defined emails on a timescale defined by you. This saves you an absolute fortune in time. It will follow-up your prospects and as we all know the money and conversion from your list comes from following up properly with your list.

I dont intend to talk about follow up emails as that is a subject for a whole book, but if you are serious in converting your list into sales then it is an absolute must you get this right.

Other sources than a website:

Classified Ads in newspapers
Brochures
Leaflets or postcards
Radio or TV

These are known as offline advertising sources. Dont discount these, they can be very useful sources of driving traffic to your website.

The key is getting targeted traffic to your site that wants and needs your products. Its really that simple, however its not easy to do. Again, getting targeted visitors to your site is a whole different ball game.

What I would say is that it takes time effort to succeed at any business and internet businesses are no different. You will need persistence and commitment to succeed and a never say die attitude.

After 5 years involved in various interent businesses, having gained some valuable experience, sometimes bitter, sometimes with fantastic results, I hope to share my experiences.

Whether you have domains and website hosting or are new to website hosting, trying to find the best deals can be a difficult process. It seems as though web hosting can be expensive, however it does not have to be. Here are some tips that can have you save a lot of money on web services.

Points covered in this web hosting article:
* Research Website Hosting Companies
* Look At Your Needs
* Free Website Hosting Offers – Free Hosting Trials – Web Hosting Discounts

* Research Website Hosting Companies
Researching website hosting companies becomes the first step in finding the best host, with the best deals. It can become easy to simply look at what has been offered on television, in magazines, etc.

The real great deals generally come from not the biggest companies with millions to invest in television advertising, but the web host that has a great service, but doesn’t have the millions to advertise. Looking around online can truly dig up the best deals.

* Look At Your Needs
When looking at your needs, it comes down to 2 aspects – the technical and the personal. They are both important, and will provide you with the answers, whether one website hosting package is better for your needs over another.

You may have found the best web host package, but it is no good unless they have what you really need. The first point is to consider your needs. Do you need MySql databases? Do you need PHP and or CGI?

The other aspect is the personal, and with the personal needs it comes down to your site. Is your site new? Are you new to the internet? Some web hosts are better for people who are new, because they provide a lot of information to get started, whereas some other hosts may not provide all the information that someone new may need.

* Free Website Hosting Offers – Free Hosting Trials – Web Hosting Discounts
There is a lot of places that offer free, a trial or discount website hosting. When you find them, the biggest and most important aspect is to carefully look at the terms. Some of these places even offer free domains.

The problem with these hosts is that they may not provide all your needs, at least with the technical aspect. What’s more, they may also put adverts, and have hidden charges. For a business looking to make a web presence, the free options generally are not the best way to go.

A great way to find the best website hosting packages is by visiting http://www.ezyseo.info or http://www.comparisonwebhostingsmallbusiness.info

Targeted Traffic is the lifeblood of your online business and is one of the most important factors to ensure the success of any website. Targeted Traffic is focused on directing a perspective customer who knows what they want to a supplier who has what they want and is what drives any online business.

Targeted traffic is the key to success and if your website is not what your visitor is searching for, then that visitor will not convert into a paying customer.
Targeted traffic is the key to higher website conversion and more sales and is simply traffic from sources and locations that are relevant to your site.

Targeted traffic is very important because without it you won’t make sales. Targeted visitors are people who want to be on your site because they are looking for exactly what you are offering.

Targeted traffic is the single most important factor contributing to genuine long-term financial success online. Traffic is nothing more than the number of hits or visitors to your site, but targeted traffic is the number of potential customers who visit your site.

It has been shown that a smaller amount of targeted traffic is more likely to spend money than a larger amount of non-targeted traffic.

One of the ways to increase your targeted traffic is by writing articles, like this one. Make sure your Article relates to the overall theme of your website and what you are offering and contains keywords which are necessary to have your Article picked up by the different search engines.

Another key to attracting targeted traffic is to set up a Blog and clearly identify your Blog’s niche. Make sure your Blog is centered around or dedicated to whatever you’re promoting and is updated on a regular basis.

If you’d like to increase the number of targeted visitors to your website, write and submit a couple of press releases to leading Public Relations distribution websites. You not only get prospects looking for information about your subject but you also get indexed by search engines very quickly.

Another way to attract targeted traffic is to use targeted keywords and key phrases to really pull in those visitors. The secret to getting more targeted visitors is to appear at the top of the search engine rankings for many different search terms.

One other method of gaining more targeted traffic is to create a newsletter for your opt-in list or subscription list. You can also use your newsletter as an offer to entice more people to give their vital information such as name and email address before entering your website to help add to your list.

You can also create an electronic magazine or ezine. Again make sure that it deals with the topics on your site and this will result in more traffic and, more importantly, in more targeted traffic.

Discussion forums are another good way to start your marketing campaign. You can start posting or answering questions at leading forums. This will enhance your presence and as more people get to know you a relationship will form and people will trust you.

In order to get traffic from the forums, you must put your signature in your profile, which is 3 or 4 lines of text with a link to your site or the affiliate’s website strategically placed.

One final method which I believe to be the most important strategy for driving targeted traffic to your website is a content rich site or Blog. Content drives traffic which drives sales and good quality content will bring visitors back again and again. These visitors will begin to tell other people about your site and before you know it you’ll have an email list of thousands.

Attracting targeted traffic is a task that should be taken seriously for any online business to succeed. If you’ve owned your own website for any length of time you’ve realized that targeted traffic can be very difficult to attract. The bottom line is lots of targeted traffic is essential for the success of any online commercial enterprise.

Want to start an online business but have no cash? I often see when sufing around forums internet marketers who have a deep desire to make the big bucks and be successful like Joe Vitale, Terry Dean and the other top names in the web marketing business.

But being new to the game, many don’t know how to start an online business, or have studied but just don’t have the cash they feel is need to build one.

To run any business online you of course will cost a little money for web hosting and a domain name. But hosting can be found free with ads and domain names cost around $5. I will show you some things here to help you build your own product and market it for $0.

You will want to switch to paid hosting, which is usually about $20 a month (to get rid of the ads) to be more professional to your customers as soon as you start making some advertising money you can invest some back into your business.

One of the first, and really the most important things in your business plan is make a list of your skills. What kind of skills have you picked up over the years? You pick up skills just going through your daily life.

You may know more than one language. Or, you may have specific knowledge about a particular subject you picked up at work. Maybe your hobbies, such as fishing.

Look over you list of knowledge and skills and pick some that you know other people are interested in. For example, say you like bowling so much you wish you could just be a pro bowler for a living.

Use your knowledge and tips to write an ebook you can sell on a bowling website. Best of all, you are the expert so you do all the writing and research and cost, zero dollars.

Take for another example, my latest ebook #1 on Google in 2 Days. I have been internet marketing for 5 years and have expertise in this niche.

When an article of mine jumped to the top of Google, quickly beating out all competition, I analyzed what I exactly had done and made a step by step book of it. Then I made a free download page giving it away to help grow my email list.

And the best part is it was free, I just supplied my knowledge. To actually make the product I did use my Adobe and Snag-it programs. But, you can find similar programs free on the internet. If not a friend probably has programs you could use to build it.

Even if you have very little money to start an online business, one of your first options could be to raise some money using the existing knowledge you have in a particular field.

You can teach things learned at work, or through your hobbies, or anywhere you can think of. You have probably picked up many tips not found in textbooks. Share them and profit by them.

Blogs are sources that provide information and news, regarding different topics. The term ‘blog’ is a more casual and popular term for ‘Web log’. There are various types of web logs, depending on the kind of information, they provide.

Blog writing or blogging initially began in the form of diaries. These blog types provided personal information as in an autobiography of a person. This requires conscious writing and highlighted important aspects of a person’s life, which most people would be keen in reading. This trend highly popularized the practice of blogging.

Blog Post Types:

1. Interviews: Writers often use interviews to learn more about a particular topic, they are working on. Thus, it may not include relevant information, but a general opinion of the public regarding a specific topic. Mostly, one or two questions are asked to get an overview of different responses.

2. Case Studies: It is one of the most popular types of blogs. Web sites include case studies, usually as review posts, where they add certain content information regarding their sites. Many web sites use case studies as a medium to generate income.

3. News Media: These are blogs which display illegal, incorrect, or inaccurate information. Sometimes, they take the content from a media source and make unintentional modifications and omissions.

4. Reviews: Usually, every online product or service has reviews along with it. They contain personal opinions or experiences regarding a particular product. This helps the readers to make a fair choice.

5. Corporate: Business entrepreneurs use corporate blogs to advertise their products and business processes. They update readers regarding recent projects, or services or any other modifications in business.

6. Rants: These are likely to trigger serious discussions and debates. Topics can range from political to ethical values and there are immense differences in opinions. Hence, they sometimes cause controversies, but are highly informative.

7. Spam or Splogs: Their basic purpose is to advertise commercial companies. They contain large number of links to enhance search engine results. Hence, they make use of repetitive text and keywords.

8. Critique Posts: Often mistaken as ‘Attack Posts’, they are aimed to criticize a particular aspect of a topic the site is advertising. However, critique blogs are mostly a result of criticism.

9. Personal: Teenagers usually, make use of personal web logs to post their anger or share some of their crucial moments and problems with distanced friends. Visitors have an access to such content and can post their opinions or suggestions on the tagboard.

10. Culture Blogs: A social organization designates bloggers to display content regarding the social aspects of a culture or cultural ethics. Here, the content is highly informal and a visitor can post an opinion, without offending any religion or culture.

Business organizations use branding, sales, relationship, collaboration and knowledge blogs, for different commercial reasons.

Inspirational, humorous, cultures, collation and problem posts are not so common types of web logs, but can bring a desirable change in thinking patterns, if used effectively.

Postcards are a cost effective way to advertise your company. They are serious marketing tools and act as tiny billboards with a big message. Postcards are great for spreading the news and are an inexpensive way to contact prospects and up sell services to current customers. They are also a great way to stay in front of your target audience.

Postcards are less expensive to send out than regular mail and are typically used when the sales message is simple and brief. Double postcards can act as a response vehicle as well because they can also provide feedback from your customers.

Another advantage of post cards is that in most mail rooms and offices any envelope that even resembles advertising is thrown away, usually unopened, whereas postcards tend to be delivered as intended.

There are many options available when using postcards as a marketing tool. You can mail them, hand them out, post them on a bulletin board or leave them in a display. They can be used to create attention, belief and a need because they have eye appeal. Postcards are most effective in announcing an event or to advertise a new product.

They are usually associated with happy memories because we all enjoy getting postcards from friends and family on holidays. And as such they tend to be viewed by the recipient as more of a personal message from the sender rather than just more advertising or junk mail.

Variable data postcards are also attractive, if designed correctly. Variable Data Printing occurs when the messaging, images and offer on each mail piece is customized according to the preferences of each recipient on your list. It’s simply the most effective way to increase response, drive sales and boost your Return on Investment.

Some general rules of thumb which can contribute to a successful postcard campaign are first of all, keep it simple. Don’t overload your customers with too much information or too many graphics. Keep your message short and to the point. Make it a quick read and leave your customers wanting to know more.

Whatever your mission is, whether it’s to advertise your product or service, to brand your business, to provide a friendly reminder to clients that you’re still around, or to promote an upcoming sale, postcards can flood your target market at a low cost.

Today’s technology enables even the smallest business to treat hundreds of customers as individuals. This gives the impression that the individual customer is special and worth getting to know. A good postcard can be viewed as a personal greeting from a business and can give the recipient a special feeling.

Make your postcard stand out from the crowd. With today’s technology and computer graphics you can make your message eye catching and memorable. You have to remember it’s likely to be the first impression you’re making on this potential client.

A key point to remember with regard to any direct mail campaign is that some people respond more quickly than others to a message or offer. Some people may contact you after one mailing while some others may take four or five communications before responding.

So it helps to know your target audience and it also helps to have patience and not to pull the plug on your postcard marketing campaign before it has the chance to achieve the desired result.

Are you attracting leads to your business? Or are you still spending time and money chasing opportunity leads to grow your Network Marketing business?

The new generation of network marketers are challenging the traditional methods for growing a Network Marketing business.

It’s not a matter of one way being right or wrong it really is just a matter of using the “advantages” that are available by marketing on the internet and maximizing the power of new Web 2.0 technologies to grow your business fast than ever before.

The World Wide Web is undergoing a change in the way that people interact and network with the growth of Social Network sites. There are thousands of Social Networks springing up all over the web (infact there are over 2000 already!) and this represents a huge opportunity for smart business owners to generate leads for their business for free.

Sites such as Facebook and Myspace are well known, and used, by the Generation Y’s to socialize and share information, images and music etc. But network marketers are now maximizing these sites, and many others, to generate leads for their businesses and explode their downline recruiting.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to using internet marketing and social networking in particular to grow your Network Marketing business.

What’s Social Networking?

Basically any site that allows the users to generate content by interacting, sharing information and connecting with other users is a social network site.

This new generation of websites are called Web 2.0 sites or technologies and their growth is phenomenal.

How can you use Social Networking sites to generate leads?

There are so many ways to generate leads for free utilizing Web 2.0 sites that it can be quite daunting when you first start. To describe each method fully, I would need to write a complete book, but I would like to give you an outline of each so that you understand the options you have available and some example websites to start with.

Note that these are only some of the free internet marketing options available to you and most overlap in terms of maximizing your positioning in the “natural search” results for search engines.

Your free “Social” Internet marketing options include:

Content Sharing: Example sites: Squidoo, Hubpages – Where you simply post information to share with others. You could be posting information about a single idea or event (such as an upcoming training) or simply sharing information about yourself or your company. These are narrative style posts that are designed to create interest and enhance your positioning on search engines.

Article Posting: Example site: Ezine Articles, Idea Marketers – Taking content sharing a step further, you become an Author and create articles (much like this one) designed to educate and inform. You then can ‘post’ these articles to various sites on the internet so that they can be viewed and shared with e-Zine (electronic magazine) publishers.

While article posting may increase your search engine ranking, the intention behind article posting is to give good information in your content so that online publishers will use your articles in their e-zines and extend your marketing reach to their readers. This gives you an opportunity to speak to a highly targeted group and positions you as an expert in your field.

Book Marking: Example site: Digg, del.icio.us – Services that allow you to “flag” or “book mark” individual pages on the internet that interest you. This allows you to form a network of all of the places on the internet where you have content and link them to each other. Great for improving your search engine traffic and also allows your web visitors to access all of the information you have posted online.

Fantastic to cross promote with other marketers and to ‘give back’ to other authors that you believe are offering valuable information.

Social Sites: Example sites: Face Book, MySpace, Direct Matches, Yuwie, Wowzza – These are networking or social gathering sites for internet users. Much like offline networking clubs, users set up a personal profile and then introduce themselves to other members.

Online the networking is done by requesting other users to become your “friend” and view your profile. You can then exchange information and, depending upon the site, interact through groups with users with similar interests.

Blogging: Example sites: Square Space, Blogger – A Blog in it’s basic form is simply an online journal. A place where you can share your knowledge, thoughts, feelings, opinions etc with the online community.

Many people keep personal blogs to let family and friends know what they are up to, others post blogs to rally support for their organisations or causes while business owners can use blogs to share updated information with their customer and to advertise their business.

To be successful a blog needs to be “updated”, or have posts added to it frequently – most popular blogs have daily (or more frequent) postings.

Blog entries tend to be shorter and more relaxed in nature than article postings and often include pictures and/or videos. All online network marketing campaigns should include a blog as part of your overall marketing strategy.

Video Sharing: Example site: YouTube – The social media that is exploding beyond all belief. This technology allows you to create a video and upload this to the Web for other users to view. Video sharing has already made superstars out of previously unknown musical artists by the “viral effect” created when users share the videos with their friends and networks.

For the network marketers video sharing is powerful as you can create a video, upload it, then link this to your other social marketing such as blogs, networking sites, content sharing lens etc, etc.

Plus many more…The opportunities appear endless but is important for you to know that the emphasis in social network marketing is to provide good information.

If you approach these methods only with the idea of “selling”, either your product or your opportunity, then you will quickly find that you run out of “friends” that are willing to hear your message. Exactly like word of mouth advertising in the offline market.

So where do you start? I suggest you focus on one method at a time and get your first listing “up” as quickly as possible. If you spend too much time trying to make your first article perfect then you will probably never actually post anything at all.

If you are new to the internet or social marketing, then I suggest that you follow a step by step program that shows you exactly where to start.

Two resources that I use and recommend are Ann Sieg’s “The Renegade Network Marketer” and Mike Dillard’s “Magnetic Sponsoring”. Both of these systems teach you not only how to generate leads for free, but how to “monetize” the process so that you can actually generate revenue through the process.

This helps to overcome another obstacle for many Network Marketers of not having enough cash flow to build their business. Two things every Network Marketer needs – more leads and greater cash flow! The perfect combination.

Remembering of course that anything you do in building your Network Marketing business needs to be duplicatable by your team.

The exact system that you chose, or the methods that you use, are less important than the mind shift you need to do in order to recognize the value of this new marketing system and then get into action to implement this into your business.

So put down that phone, stop cold calling leads and start your Social Marketing campaign today.

You will be amazed by the opportunities that are available to you if you spend the time and energy in learning to maximize Social Inter-Net-work Marketing.

This is a very popular website for selling websites. You will find many qualified buyers on this site compared to other websites. However, the service doesn’t come for free. You will have to submit a payment for listing your website. But given the huge number of qualified buyers, it’s worth making some initial investment.

Sitepoint. com contains a “Marketplace” wherein there are three segments: “Premium Sites for Sale”, “Established Websites for Sale” and “Turnkey Sites for Sale”. Most of the websites belong to any of these segments. We now have a look at the three segments.
1. The Premium Sites for Sale: This section is for the most valuable websites. In general, the websites that have great traffic and earn huge profits every month are placed in this segment. You can list your website for sale here by paying a fee of $40.
2. Established Sites for Sale: If your website has been around for a while and it is attracting traffic as well as bringing in profit, then this section is for you. Listing in this section will cost you $20.
3. Turnkey Sites for Sale: This section is devoted to new readymade websites that haven’t build up their traffic yet, and more importantly, they are not bringing in any revenue. Listing in this section will only cost you $10.

Digital Point Forums

People who don’t like the idea of making payment for listing their websites can go for Digital Point Forums. Here you are not required to submit any kind of payment, unlike Sitepoint. com Forums. However, it has its downside. In case you don’t get any replies to your thread posting, your website listing will be buried really fast.

NamePros. com

Yet another forum is NamePros. com wherein there is a site having a sale section. Here again, you are not required to submit any fee for listing your website.
Sedo Auctions

You also have the option of listing your website for sale on Sedo. They don’t charge any fee but you’ll have to pay a commission fee of 10% if a buyer purchases your website.

eBay Website Sale

eBay Website sale will help you expose your website to a huge audience. These auctions are usually indexed by the search engines; thus, many buyers can find you via search engines. It will charge you a commission from whatever sale you make. However, be ready to deal with fake or spam bidders.

If you already have a website for selling, choose any of the platforms mentioned above and see for yourself how profitable the business of website sale really is.
