I have a website and a business but I’m not sure where to get the word out. We do weddings, portraits, and other photography services.

My brother in law had great success with having hired people to go door to door to sign people up for a free 8×10 portrait. They’d ask a local ambulance or firehall to host the picture-taking, and added validity to the whole marketing. This allows for free press release and posting on events. You give a certain amount of proceeds to the ambulance or firehall for the use of their hall.
Some people just wanted the free 8×10, but many people ended up buying entire packages. that’s where you make your money.
Also check with local churches to do their member’s directory, or local schools to do the school pictures for them.

There are way too many places to advertise your services.
Weddings – newspaper, magazines, wedding guides. Cross promote with a cake shop and a bridal shop. Make samples of your work and hang them in the shops. Even alteration places, tuxedo rental shops.
Portraits – there is no limitation to the amount of cross promotions you can do. Anyplace a kid would go. Ice cream shops, malls, toy stores, kids clothing stores, kids gyms, kids hair places, birthday party centers, daycare centers, etc. For adults, gyms, spas, restaurants, etc.
For business portraits or headshots, go to real estate companies and hr departments in companies in the area.
Could go on and on.
