How is it possible to make sure you are known when you enter the world-wide web? With the huge community of pages and pages of information and millions of players how can you stand out? With internet network marketing and knowing that the marketing part is crucial, what enables you to succeed?

In conventional marketing there is branding. Branding is still a requirement of the internet. Unless you stand out from the masses of others plying their business in varying degrees of intensity, how are you ever going to make it? As the internet is a relatively impersonal place with little direct presence of yourself actually there, you need something powerful to have an effect.

Personality on the Web
Images and sounds will help. This as as close as the real contact in the real world can be, It explains the success of the MySpace and Facebook formats. And if you do happen to stumble across some such site while doing a search the effect of a video which can be played almost immediately is quite profound. Elements of the poster’s personality are evident immediately. Even those non-verbal cues like eye contact and body responses as the person speaks give large volumes of information that the written page cannot quite match.

Your Purpose
But is it is well to remember, before you place an on-line video, that you need a purpose to be there. Or at least if you are pursuing internet network marketing you need that. Why do you you want to enter the web and what are you offering? This clarity, a bit akin to that recommended by Napoleon Hill in his classic “Think and Grow Rich”, is important. As one of his strategies he suggests you need to have a goal (monetary in the case of the book) that you are aiming for, that you have a date by which you wish to attain that, and that you know what value you are going to give in exchange for it. Similarly we need some clarity about our purpose before we launch onto the world wide web in search of internet mlm success.

Growth And Flexibility
In some ways though, you can never be absolutely sure of what exactly you will be and how you will run things on the web until you get on it. As you become involved in the community your ideas begin to clarify. Having to put out there what you believe and have experienced crystallizes some of your reasons and aspirations. Feedback from your forays will redirect you as well. Some approaches and ideas produce more fruit than others. And like any savvy marketer you need to take heed of these responses to adjust what and how you are doing your work. In itself this is hugely useful. Your business will be in a state of flux finding your path. But if you respond appropriately and learn from your mistakes (and there is no way you will not make some of these) then you will be a much better network marketer for it.

What sort of things help your branding?

Your Story
Well your past experience is always helpful. And it is a natural point to work from. We are the product of our upbringing and the events that happen to us along life’s way. The story of your history is always interesting to people and creates an element of kinship. Of course there are those out there who will not relate to you. But the value of the web is the in the huge numbers of people out there. The more there are, the more chance we will have of encountering someone who relates to us. So we do not need to be bland and inoffensive. By creating a larger-than-life character in a way you create a powerful magnetic attraction to those with a similar or related bent. That shared identity and understanding creates the beginnings of rapport and that vital trust that allows for more direct communication. So never forget the importance of the story of you.

Stories
With the constant amount of entertainment we are all exposed to it is important to be entertaining. Remember that stories sell and facts tell. By relating you daily life stories you will engage people further. Letting them know of amusing happenings and changes you are going through you also create more of that personality that we are used to relating to in the live situation.

So do not be afraid of relating those embarrassing or annoying moments – you don’t want to be too personal – but at least people are quite likely to be able to connect with it.

Remember in network marketing people also relate and stay with the person more than with the opportunity. By being a compelling person you create even stronger attraction.

Your Company
The value you have in your company is also important. For some reason it was important to you. and for those who will most likely respond this will be important too. Being able to feel your enthusiasm for it will translate across the medium too.

Clarity
Clear messages of what you are seeking and hoping for also helps. It is easier to relate to a strong personality. And if you want to retain people it is important to have a clear point of difference from others out there. You can afford to be outrageous to a degree, especially if it reinforces your brand.

Consistency
Make sure you respond quickly and consistently to your contacts. With the flaky world that is out there that assurance of consistency creates great trust and loyalty.

Multiple Exposures
Chose several mediums to work with. As people are present in different areas of the web if your mlm home business is going to find the right people you need to be exposed in a large number of places to find those people you are looking for in large enough numbers to ensure that no matter how fickle these wandering net people are, they will find you and stick with you.

Your Persona
Over time you will develop a persona on the web. And your particular strengths will become more clear. You can add this to your contact details to reinforce this even more. In this way you become more compelling by having a clear message as to who exactly you are and what you stand for. It creates a greater polarity. But that stronger differentiation creates even stronger attraction as it creates stronger repulsion for some. But you only want those who are going to respond well to you anyway. Why not make it even more secure.

Finally, it may not always be the best to promote your company first. People are always keen for information and connection. Once this is well established they become more curious about who you really are and what mlm business you are involved with. A more natural inquiry and response can be created very readily.

You may know that the conversion rate of your own internet home business website is much more important than the number of visitors.

A good website, which converts well, brings returning visitors through recommendations and bookmarks better than anything else, because that is the most important element of your marketing system.

1. Direct Your Website Into A Narrow, Special Focus.
During the business planning of your internet home business opportunity, you have done some sharp selections to be able to offer unique content and to be able to stand out from the crowd.

Now you should be able to write the consumer promise of your offer with a couple of words and very simply, that is your focus. Almost everything on your website should lead the visitors toward deciding to take that primary action. Nothing on the page should distract them and “lead them off down other trails.

The most used actions are to join your optin list, buy a product or get a free report. Make sure that you know what you want your visitors to focus on and get rid of the other distractions.

Many researches prove that without a clear focus, a consumer promise, the website does not succeed to reach the success, especially if it has too many calls into actions. The result is then, that your visitor will continue surfing.

2.The Website Must Be A Part Of Your Personality And The Visitor Must Meet You.
All internet home business connections are based on two things: trust and brand. If the site visitor will not meet the owner of the site, how he could trust a site and how he can build an image of the brand.

One of the best ways to build a unique website and stand out from the crowd is to personalize your site by putting your own personality into fire. Your visitors want to know your expertise and your history.

No one can copy your own personality, it is the utmost best way to build trust and brand loyalty in a unique way.

You can easily add video or audio to your website, and allow it to “touch” your visitor on an emotional level. When people hear your own voice or see you talking and when they see your body language, you communicate so more effectively than just with the written copy.

And how easy these two are to make. If you want to add audio to your internet home business website all you need is microphone plugged into your computer and if you install a video, you need a webcam.

You will find services that will take this audio or video, allow you to edit it with some clicks of the mouse, and then stream it from their servers or upload it to your server.

A totally splendid service is called Audio Acrobat. You can use it to have customers, subscribers, etc., call in and leave their testimonials.

You can record video from webcam to this service too. You can also upload video recorded on a regular video camera to this service, and then stream it from their website.

3. Use Your Own Credentials.
Imagine that you have just landed a new website and see just fantastic information, what do you think first? I am sure you will ask, what makes this site owner so professional that he can recommend these things to me?
So the owner must have a separate credentials page, where the visitor can read his experiences to be able to build a picture about a very professional, serious marketer.

Even better if the testimonials of earlier buyers will tell you, how this guy has served them or how they have benefitted?

4. Use Optin Form To Capture Email Addresses.
A short stats exercise: the conversion rate of your own website is somewhere between 0.5 to 1.0 %, so the fraction of site visitors will buy, but what you offer those 99 %, who are not ready to buy yet?

Another fact is that only around 1 % will buy during their first visit, so how can you speak to the 99 % of the visitor later to make a needed impact with the repetition? Normally the sales reaches its peak after the fifth visit.

The answer is that you must capture their optin email address during their first visit and then you have a tool to reach them over and over again.

By giving them a useful related free gift, a special report for instance, as a thank you present, they will give their addresses via the optin form on your website. Now you can follow them by the autoresponder during a long period of time and a part of your marketing is automated.

It is important to have a mechanism which take the visitor back to the point, where he has was before he started to fill in the form, because otherwise he may be gone. The form can be also on the popup or popunder form.

5.Let Others Tell The Benefits They Got.
The testimonials of your earlier buyers are more effective than your own words. When they tell how they got benefits to their businesses from your products or information with their own words, it will touch your visitors greatly, especially if you manage to get a testimonial from some known expert.

Testimonials with photos, audio, or video, are very effective. Testimonials with just a set of initials or with just a first name, have NO credibility.

6.Website Visitors Wait For Benefits, Not Features.
The difference is clear. Do not tell your internet home business site visitor, how good products you have, tell them how they will improve their lives. People do not want to buy 12 millimeter drills, they want to get 12 millimeter holes.

7.Do Not Focus On I, Focus On You.
Speak about how these great products can help you to make better earnings, because that is the whole idea, why you are on the market. Again: not features but benefits!

8.Offer The Right Payment Options.
Most internet home business website visitors want to pay by credit card or some payment processor, like PayPal. Make sure the selection of these options is wide enough and includes the most used ones.

9.Do Not Use Too Many Different Fonts.
Many website owners seem to think that the site must be fancy to be successful. That is not the case. If you think the two things, trust and great brand, the copy is absolutely in the main role.

You can use different fonts for some very special reason, to underline some important thing for instance.
Your pages should be built in such a way that your urgent visitor can go it through by just reading the headlines and subheadlines and to get a picture.

Remember the power of the P.S. The visitor should be able to go to the bottom of the page, read the “P.S.” where you’ve restated your promise and order without being forced to read the rest of the page.

10. The Job Of The Header Graphics Is To Promise The Main Benefit.
It should draw the attention and be simple enough to tell the visitor in one second, what benefits you promise to him from your internet home business website.

11.Underline The Guarantee.
A guarantee is an important element of the trust and the brand. It is a sign of a fair play and about risk free purchase. If the visitor will buy by credit card or by payment processor, he will get the guarantee anyway.

But if the customer claims his money back from the credit card company, it will pay you extra money. And if they do this with Clickbank, for instance, this company will most probably stop doing business with you. When you use a refund guarantee, it will improve the conversion rate but not your refunding rate.

12.P.S. At The Bottom Is An Effective Call To Action.
This is because many busy surfers will jump directly to P.S. to get the idea of the main promise. This is the case especially, if they have been presold before landing to your internet home business website with the article marketing for instance.

As a summary, your internet home business website is the most important element of your business and it must convert well. You may have found out that the conversion rate is more important than the number of visitors you manage to drive to your site.

The good news is that you can always improve the conversion rate by testing the different elements regularly. Follow especially the websites of the best performing internet home business marketers and think whether their ideas fit to you and your business plan.

If you are interested in finding the multi-level marketing company that works right for you there are several considerations you should make about the company. These considerations include the legitimacy, costs, product, and more.

Many multi level marketing companies give you the opportunity to begin your own home based business and get out of the nightmare of the corporate world. Some people would give their left eye for this type of opportunity. You really can work at home but you should be sure the company is honest and legitimate. You can verify these things through the Better Business Bureau and other places to find out if there are complaints made against the company. You should thoroughly research any company before you make any commitment or pay out any money.

Most network marketing companies want you to put forth a lot of money to get started. They might even have monthly fees in addition to a lump sum for joining. This can get really expensive and may not be affordable for you. You need to be sure you can afford all of the fees associated with the business. You should read the fine print and don’t always trust the person trying to reel you in.

They may leave out the details of extra added costs. You want to be sure any network marketing business you join is something you can afford and you will actually be earning enough money to make a living off of. Choosing the wrong multi-level marketing business will only put your money in other people’s pockets and do nothing for you. A good example of a company to stay away from is YourTravelBiz or YTB. This company promises 60% payouts but doesn’t really pay that. They will charge you $500 to get started and an additional $50 a month. It will seem like forever before you earn any of your money back if you ever do.

Another thing you need to think about is the product you would be selling. If you are going to start a home based business by selling something then it should be in a product you believe in that you agree is a good product. You should also verify that the market is not already saturated with this particular product or it may make it impossible for you to be successful. If you are selling something you believe in then you will be more successful.

There are many things you need to think about if you want to be successful with a multi-level marketing business. However, you also have to watch out for the ones that are scams. Don’t let a company talk you into anything before you have enough time to research and find out for yourself it if is a legitimate business. Be sure you know if there are complaints made about the company by anyone. Also make sure that the product you will be selling is something that you believe in. If you think the product is a joke but you are convinced about the income, this might be a bad idea and most likely won’t last long.

Affiliate marketing is one of those things that sounds like a dream come true for anyone wanting to make money on the internet. You don’t have to do any real work other than try to convince people to go to somebody else’s website and buy something. The merchant, who is, in essence, “hiring” you to send visitors to his or her website, really does all the work.

When someone goes to the merchant’s website through your affiliate link and buys something, you get paid an affiliate “commission” by the person or company who is handling all of the details of actually providing the product or service. It sound’s like a great deal. But there’s more to making affiliate marketing work if you want to make any real money.

The concept behind affiliate marketing is not something new. It precedes the internet and has been around in one form or another for quite some time. Any commission salesman has been doing pretty much the same thing, with the exception that the affiliate marketer is not exclusive to any one merchant … or to any one product line, for that matter.

As an affiliate marketer, you can literally market anything as long as you are accepted by the merchant to be one of their affiliates. Some merchants are more picky than others. Some require you to go through a lengthy application process while others just want a name and email address.

Affiliate marketing is really a “win-win” situation for both the merchant and the affiliate. The merchants are merely expanding their sales force for free by enrolling more affiliates. Their only real investment is providing affiliate “links” that can be tracked to the affiliate responsible for sending them the visitor. Some affiliates, as mentioned earlier, go the extra step by providing banners, replicated websites or other affiliate tools to help the affiliate market their wares.

The affiliate benefits from not having to provide any of the nuts and bolts of operating the business. All that he or she has to do is send visitors to the merchant’s website and collect commission checks (or Paypal deposits) for any sales that are made. It’s up to the merchant to deal with the real work of stocking inventory, delivering the product or service and any customer service.

Affiliate marketing has grown quickly since it was introduced to the internet. Like the California Gold Rush in the 1800s, affiliate marketing has people from all over the world rushing by the thousands to join the affiliate marketing frenzy. And also like the California Gold Rush, most of the real money that has been made has been by those selling the tools more than those who have struck it rich mining the hills of affiliate marketing.

Not to say that you won’t make money as an affiliate marketer. Most have made “some” money, but, in reality, most have spent more on their “tools” than they’ve made through their affiliate links. A simple P&L statement (“profit and loss”) would reveal an embarrassing bent toward the expenditure column.

Most affiliate marketing programs are free to join. Some of the major players in the field are Clickbank, Commission Junction and Share-a-Sale, although there are literally thousands to choose from. Many, including the ones mentioned above, are affiliate networks that act as a go-between for the merchant and the affiliate. They handle the tracking and commission payments for the merchant in exchange for a percentage of the transaction.

The key to succeeding with affiliate marketing is generating quality, targeted traffic. Most affiliate programs will drop you like a hot potato if you are ever found guilty of “spamming.” In general, a “shotgun” approach to marketing is not only dangerous, it’s a waste of everybody’s time.

Think “boutique” instead of Wal-Mart or a mall. People who make purchases on the internet are typically looking for something very specific. The more targeted and specific you can be, the better your chances of finding the right person for the right product.

Regardless of what you may have heard, you must advertise in some form or fashion if you want to be successful. But be careful here. Pay-per-click advertising, such as Adwords, can quickly get out of hand if you’re not careful. Make sure you set a budget and stick with it.

Avoid the “send-your-email-to-one-million-people” types of offers. You might as well flush your money down the commode and wait for your sink to fill up with cash. They’re worthless.

The best approach is to build a targeted “boutique” website or blog and fill it with valuable content. Find something that you are interested in and focus on that. If you like fast cars, focus on a specific model. A website on “mustang convertibles” is much better than “fast cars.” If you like birds, build a website or blog on “hummingbirds” instead of just “birds.”

Whatever your topic, there are thousands of ways to “monetize” your site through affiliate programs. Open an account with Commission Junction or one of the other affiliate networks and browse through what they have to offer.

You should also try to start a newsletter or offer a free report so that you can begin your own “list” of potential buyers. Having your own mailing list will help you to build trust over time and, eventually, to make a more affiliate sales.

Affiliate marketing really is a fantastic way to make money on the internet. Avoid the pitfalls and stay focused. With very little investment, and in some cases none, affiliate marketing can be a quick and easy way to make money on the internet.

When I first heard that 92-97% of people fail at network marketing I was shocked. How could it be that an opportunity that seemed so straight-forward could result in so much fallout? Certainly when I got in I decided I was there for two to four years minimum before I would decide to quit. And when I knew the statistic that 95% of people who remain in an opportunity for more than ten years would be wealthy beyond their wildest dreams then I felt I had to hang in there. To quit would be stupid.

And if the figures are correct why quit? Well there can be a number of reasons – some common and some less obvious.

Recently on considering the sobering failure statistic again I remembered I had heard that 95% of small businesses fail within two years. But checking this I found it hard to substantiate. It may be that it is an urban myth. There are references out there. But there are also a good number that dispute this figure. More recent US statistics suggest it may be much lower. Maybe only about 34%. Then again the framing of the statements suggests the data could be looking at all existing businesses.

If it was really at 95% then failure in mlm at 95% would not be incongruous. It is just another form of business.

Still why do people fail at home business network marketing?

1. Poor Businesses
If the underlying opportunity fails then those involved with it will suffer a loss of their livelihood. And with the large number of start up mlms failure is a distinct possibility. You need a business with a good track record and sound business footing. People like to get on board a new opportunity early to benefit from being at te top of the system. Like any new venture there are risks with this. With no track record you have no assurance for the future. Even a track record does not mean a company will continue without problems or challenges that could send it under. But it gives more reassurance than nothing. And the founders should have learned some good strategies to get as far as they have.

2. New Competition
New businesses starting in the same area can produce competition which can lead to a reduction in possible opportunity. The leaders of a multilevel marketing business should always be aware of threats and weaknesses and should be adjusting to allow for this. But they can get caught unawares.

3. Cheaper Product Available in Retail Stores
If the same or near equivalent product appears on the retail market, especially in supermarkets, then the viability of running a competing business is in jeopardy. A good company should be channeling its product through the one outlet. Or, if it is available in retail there should be a significant cost advantage buying it through the network. However supermarket chains are unlikely to allow this.

4. Failure of Support
If there is inadequate training and lack of a good team support structure then it will be difficult for a newbie to succeed. Any mlm must have a very simple method of operation that can be readily duplicated. And there needs to be good support and expert trainers to get a newbie onto their feet.

5. Unrealistic Expectations
This applies to the new business owners as much as to any customers the company. If the expected returns are set at attainable levels and there is early generation of income people are more likely to continue. But, especially with the advent of the internet, a long lead time to financial success will cause questions to surface in a new recruit’s mind. And if they are strong enough and there are not good answers forthcoming they will quit.

6. Too High An Investment
If the start-up costs are high and the method of attaining new recruits involves significant up front costs a good number of people will find that financially they cannot cope for long.

7. Failure To Understand Personality Differences
This seems to be a major reason so many people quit. With the huge range of personality types out there – ranging from four to eight depending on the system used – it can be difficult to cater to the variety of representatives there will be on the team as well as variations in customer personality. Too often it is easier to communicate in a style that fits our personality type as that is what resonates with us. And often it is the reasoning that moved us into the business. If it did us, why should it not be for other people? What we should be looking for, though, is the personality style of our prospects. And with new team members the personality style of our newbie reps.

If we allow for this we are more likely to have success. In fact, if your consider a basic four types set up and an even distribution of types, then we could increase our prospect range by 300% – going from 25 to 100% of a possible market!.

So what is the answer?

a. Business
Well we need a good business, financially sound, with a good track record, products or services that are in wide demand and are not available cheaper in normal retail outlets. We need excellent training and support and a mindset that we will be in this for the long term. Therefore our business also needs to be one that will be around for many years due to the nature of the its current products or services and its development of future products or services. Start up and ongoing costs should be reasonable. And the compensation plan should allow for ready monetization of the process. It should be possible to rise to the top levels of the company at any time in its life history – ground floor or many years later. The system for acquiring representatives and customers should be easily duplicated.

b. Personalities
As far as personalities in your team go, a good understanding of the synergies that are available in utilizing a number of people with a range of personalities in your team could lead to a real business explosion. Different personality types can reach a wider range of people. More importantly it gives balance to the whole team thrust and multiplies its effectiveness. Different skill sets can undertake different functions within the team. The different processing styles allow for better observations of opportunities and responses to them. And communication which understands and relates to the different types will produce better outcomes and satisfaction.

With this approach and method of operation there should be far fewer failures. And if there were less the multiplication of our opportunity would produce huge results – exponential growth built from a much bigger base. Every extra unit at each level produces unbelievably large increases in the leverage of network marketing. If Einstein called compound interest the eight wonder of the world, then exponential team growth based on better retention in your home based business would be the ninth.

Trying to find the right Christian business opportunity on the internet has its challenges. There are many business opportunities out there that promise you unlimited income potential, but in the end they only take your money. Many Christians are now looking for new Christian business opportunities to start in order to help fuel their ministries and families to do the work of the Lord more abundantly. Serving the Lord is what a Christian does and what could be better than a way to do just that in your own business; your own home-based Christian business.

A Christian home business is similar to any online home business in functionality; however, you are able to serve God in ways difficult to do in the workplace. A Christian focused home-based business is a rewarding experience that impacts the internet market in a substantial way. With this type of home business you are able to earn money from the comfort and ease of your own home, but are also able to serve the Lord while doing it.

Once you have reached the decision to start a home based Christian business, you will need to take a look at your skills and knowledge base to determine what kind of business you will have. Many home businesses work directly with the computer and internet services and this is certainly an option for the Christian home based business as well. There are several Christian home based business opportunities in multilevel marketing (MLM) business models. With this form of Christian home based business, you get great leverage by earning from individuals you bring into this business as you help them to succeed.

With proper discernment and prayer you will find the right home-based Christian business that pleases you and the Lord. Christians at times struggle with the idea of success and business. There is a tendency to misinterpret the scripture that states that the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. Money, in and of itself, is merely a tool that God can and does use to bless His people. Loving money more than you love God or other people, not money itself, is where the danger lies.

The main thing that you must look at as you grow your Christian home business is keeping focused on giving glory to the Lord. Your Christian Home Business belongs to God. Success in business, just as success in any part of your life, should be rooted in a foundation that glorifies God for that success. Take note of your heart as you continue to build your business and determine your goals. Your Christian business will grow based upon your stewardship of your resources and talents.

The way business is done today has been completely changed by the recent surge in technology. The incredible growth and reach of the internet makes success in a home-based business more accessible than ever. The internet is an immense opportunity that you can use to grow and expand your Christian business far and beyond your local community, even to the far ends of the world. There are fellow Christians–living at some faraway lands– who will be happy and willing to do business with you. Similar to other online home based businesses, however, this kind of home based business also requires patience as well following a systematic process.

To make your business successful over the internet, you still have to put some time and effort into your business. Work it like a business, not just a hobby. It doesn’t matter if you just want to work part time to earn one hundred a month or if your plan is to own a full time business and earn thousands. If you have sought God’s approval and He tells you to go ahead with a particular Christian home based business, then the next thing is to get started.

So, how can you run the Christian home based business in a godly way? If you want your Christian home based business to be successful, then open the door of the business and ask the Lord to come into it. Tell Him you want Him to work with you as a partner (or as the CEO) and listen for His guidance daily. He wants to bless you and wants your Christian home based business to prosper. So, don’t forget to first of all consult Him as you make your daily business decisions. Whatever Christian home based business God has led you to run, don’t forget to do it for God’s glory. Work with integrity in everything you do. Remember that God is your business partner and you wouldn’t want to disgrace His name.

A Christian home-based business is an ideal career option for you to make quick money, from the comfort of your home, while honoring the Lord and serving other people. You can often get your business started for less than the cost of a decent vacuum cleaner. Running a successful business is the only way to create financial freedom. The home based business industry is creating more millionaires today than any other profession out there.

So what do you look for? A Christian home based business should strive to sell products or services of the highest value for the money charged. A Christian home based business should also deal only with product or service vendors of the highest integrity. And finally, a Christian home based business should provide superior customer support. Follow these simple rules and your Christian home based business is sure to provide you with great financial wealth as well as personal wealth.

So you have decided to take your mlm business to the next level. You have decided if you wait for the usual one-on-one marketing and business meetings you are only to going to get more of what you have always gotten. And if your past efforts have not been spectacular, why should continuing in the same vein be any different? That definition of insanity again, that led us into network marketing in the first place – it being doing the same thing you have always done and expecting a different result!

Where would you start? Well a bit depends on your experience up until now and whether you are wanting to spend any money.

Pay Per Click Marketing
Assuming you have some money to use, one of the easy ways is to do an advertisement in Google’s Pay Per Click marketing. You will need a link to a site to direct traffic to. And you will need to monitor the results regularly. But the beauty of the PPC campaigns is the rapidity with which you get feedback. The next day you will have information you can use.

By having several different advertisement versions you can test the power of variations of words, or completely different ones. You can elect to let Google display your ads according to response – here they will display an ad that gets a higher click-through rate percentage more often than one that does not. So if you are selling something you can have a better rate of response for each time your ad is displayed. Or if you wish to have data to decide on this yourself for later, maybe for other media, you can elect to have your ad versions rotated giving an even exposure. It is interesting to get feedback on this. You can find that one ad wording may appear more popular for a time and then drop back, suggesting a change in the searchers out there, maybe a variation in the economy, or whatever.

Initially you can elect to have your ad displayed simply on the search display. This gives you a quicker response on how your wording is functioning, often in a few days. It also gives you a more targeted audience, dependent on the keywords you elect to have as your search criteria. Once you have determined your best wording you can allow the ad to be displayed on the content pages, that is other web sites out there dealing with similar content to what your ad is about. This gives a somewhat less targeted audience but does allow for a wider exposure.

You can chose the countries or cities you wish you ad to be displayed in. For an initial word testing of your ads you may find it better to have a world-wide, or Europe, North America and Oceania distribution to get a larger audience and therefore more rapid feedback.

You need to decide on your keywords. It is better to have more selective ones to allow better targeting of your audience. Also the more common ones tend to be quite highly priced. These will cause you either to have to set a high cost-per-click which can mean your campaign will be expensive. Or, having elected to have a not so high maximum click through cost, having a lot of keywords that are inactive at any one time. It is also useful to realize that some PPC marketings will elect a high cost-per-click rate for a day or so and then drop their bid once they have achieved a high placements spot for their ad by their initial bid.

If you get creative on keyword selection, though, you can have very targeted enquirers at relatively low cost. The trick is to think like your desired customers are likely to think and decide what sort of search keywords they are likely to use and what their other interests and searches are likely to be and then use these and related words as your keywords.

You can also use tools like Word Tumbler and the adwords wrapper in Mikes-Marketing-Tools.com. This way you can cover the variations that people are likely to use in the Google search.

You don’t need to confine yourself to Google. Use Yahoo or Microsoft’s service if you prefer. But Google does have the lion’s share of the traffic.

You need to decide what you are wanting to market too. You could ask people to simply join your network marketing group or look at your home business. Or you could offer them a service, whether one on information or another simple product. You will find, as you no doubt are aware yourself, that people are more likely to check out information, and when they know a little bit about you, then ask more about your mlm opportunity, than they are to do it directly. If you are not sure about this you can always test it. In fact in the same campaign you can check it out side by side and compare results over an identical time frame.

Article Marketing
If you are not yet up to spending some money, then a simple way to testing the waters is by article marketing. You can write articles of interest to a particular segment, usually related to your business i.e. home based business or mlm, and submit them to directories. These can be picked up by many different sources and hence you begin to create a wide distribution system out there.

The article needs to be unique. Using copyrighted work and other people’s already existing articles is not recommended or ultimately allowed. Usually you have to tick a box to agree that this is not a copied work. There is provision for you to use a ghost-writer, but usually such people need to be acknowledged. Most of these sites allow people to object if they feel you are using other people’s material and this will be checked out.

You cannot directly market your network marketing opportunity in the text of the article. But you can append a resource box to it – in fact it is recommended. This gives a brief description of you and a link or two back to sites you would like interested people to check out. This will allow a selected group to seek you out. They already have an interest in you and what you are saying. So you have a very warm targeted market.

You can submit to a wide number of article directories out there, sending the same article to different ones to create a greater exposure. And there are some who will distribute your article for you to other directories saving you time on individually submitting each one.

There is much more that can be done, and much more that could be talked about even on these two ideas. But at least this is a start. The main thing in internet network marketing, as with conventional mlm, is to take action. You have to get out there and do it!

Having a direct selling business (aka network marketing, mlm, affiliate marketing, etc.) can be very rewarding. But you can also lose a ton of money and even frustrate yourself if you fail to do a few simple things.
Unfortunately, most direct sellers drop the ball and end up leaving tons of potential for reorders on the table because they are not taking care of the customers they have worked hard to acquire.

The good news is you can end the frustration in your business and put yourself on a path of making more money and keep your customers coming back so they are ordering month after month after month. In this article, you will learn 7 simple steps you can take to add value to your local market customer’s buying experience, so they become a customer that consistently buys products and services from you.

While these steps may seem simple, they are often overlooked by most marketers. Your key to greater growth and profits, especially long term residuals from reordering customers, is to master the consistent application of the following value adding steps. Do this and you will have a strong competitive advantage over your competition.

1. Understand Your Customer’s Wants and Needs

Your prospect will buy for their reasons and not yours. They will also buy from people they know, like, and trust. These facts do not mean that you can’t sell to strangers, but what it does mean is you have to get to know your prospects before they will make a commitment to become a customer.

A major mistake most marketers make when working with prospects is they fail to identify the true wants and needs of that person. The secret to reveal such information requires effective communication. This means asking the right questions and listening to what is said.

In today’s economy, having a good product at a fair price is not enough. Your product also has to be best, the fastest, the nicest, and the easiest to use. There’s a real market for premium products, even in a struggling economy.

Part of making your whole product a premium, which includes the physical product, you, and your service to the customer, is to make sure your product meets the wants and needs of your prospect. If it does not, do not sell it to them, not even at bargain price.

2. Do Not Compete on Price

Competing on price can kill your profits and your business. While prices should be fair, be careful not to fall into discounting your prices just to get the sale. The facts prove that if your price is too low, people wonder why you are charging that tiny amount. Low bargain bin prices often create an image of junk.

Remember that people buy from those they know, like, and trust. They will pay a fair price. The key is in your ability and skills to present value to your customer. Never price yourself so low that you cause your customer to think, “what’s the catch?”

By offering a higher price, you are instantly creating less skepticism in the mind of your prospect. Now do not misunderstand what is being said here and price too high. Your price must be reasonably fair. Make sure your customer understands the uniqueness of what you offer and never compete on price. Set your price fairly and compete on a level of value. This does not mean not to provide discounts or rewards, but do not make pricing your primary competitive position in your strategy to acquiring customers.

3. Stand Behind What You Sell with a Strong Guarantee

Make sure you offer a guarantee to your customers. I see too many direct sellers sell with a clearance no return no refund policy. Having such a policy can prevent you from acquiring the customers you could have if you have a guarantee. Also make your guarantee a no-hassle policy.

Keep in mind, customers are picky and want value, meaning products and services that work as you describe they would work. Even if you were selling a plant stand, make sure the product meets your own standards on quality. And never sell junk.

When considering the guarantee you offer your customer, do not be afraid to offer a strong guarantee. As an example, in my business we publish our own how-to products for direct sellers. These products are written and produced with our company as the publisher and we stand behind our products with a strong guarantee.

We further believe that any product we sell to our customers must also carry a guarantee. When we sell books or CDs authored by others, we will offer a 180 day guarantee, even if the authors themselves offer no guarantee. We do this because we believe in what we offer and will only offer products that are high quality in content.

If you are offering a guarantee that your company does not offer, or if the guarantee is on top of what your company offers, make sure to point out that added value to your customer. This will help build trust and confidence in you. Reduce the risk in your customer’s mind by offering a strong guarantee.

4. Present Your Prospect with Buying Choices

Whether you are offering a high ticket item or multiple small items, you must offer your prospects and customers options. You could offer to spread payments out into an easy payment plan, or a lower priced benefit if the product is pre-paid (i.e. a membership site that offers a lump sum that gives access for three months, six months or even a year).

Regardless of the options you offer, make sure you do not confuse or overwhelm your prospect with too many options. Keep it simple. A very simple payment option is to accept major credit cards as a form of payment.

Your sale process for acquiring new customers in your local market and for keeping those customers coming back for more is accomplished more effectively when you effectively answer their questions, squashing their fears or challenging thoughts they may come up with in their minds for not buying your product. You will not succeed by selling someone on something and then they find out they don’t have the payment option they want.

5. Follow-Up and Follow-Through

Never ever, no matter what you do ignore the people that have purchased from you before. Understand that building a solid local customer base is based on relationships. To nurture these relationships, you must stay in constant contact with your customers.

You can use your follow-up time to better understand your customer’s wants and needs. You can get a testimonial on their experience of using your products or even secure some referrals to expand your local market customer base. The bottom line is your customers must know you care.

6. Reward Your Customers

Customers are a great source of your residual earnings, meaning money that comes in month after month. In addition to understanding what your customers want and need, they also want to feel important. The importance of making your customers feel important will drive up your sales results. Whether through a customer priority service program or unexpected bonus rewards, it is not hard to come up with ways to reward your customers.

Never forget that it is more cost effective to get a customer to reorder or to purchase other products than it is to acquire a new customer. These people are the most important of all. They have already bought your products. This means they are more willing to spend money buying from you.

Of course, to get your local market customers coming back to buy more, they must know, like, and trust you. This is accomplished only through nurturing those customer relationships. Taking care of your customers and rewarding them will make them feel important, which nurtures the relationship, will cause them to want to continue to do business with you.

7. Invest in Your Customers and They Will Invest in You

Never be afraid of offering trials or samples. Whether free, paid, or even a reduce payment as a way to sample your products and services. This is an investment because you are often cutting into your profit.

Now do not misunderstand the use of trials and samples with what I said earlier about not competing on price. The fact is people are skeptical by nature and trials and samples allow for the prospect to become your customer in an easy low risk way.

You will want to avoid free trials unless you’re aiming for lead generation. The problem with free trials is that you’ll attract all sorts of freebie seekers, and I’m sure you don’t want people wasting your time, taking up valuable resources and just picking something up because it’s free. But in a lead generation tactic, you are exchanging value for value (your free sample for their contact information).

A critical lesson I learned many years ago was that you must give before you receive, meaning you must invest in your prospects and customers before they will invest in you. This does not always mean free samples or trail discounts; it can many times mean you investing your time to better understand your prospects and customers.

While you may have similar products and services to others in the marketplace, there is nowhere else they can get the uniqueness of you. As you develop your customer base in your local market, be sure to implement the above 7 steps for adding value. And never lose sight of the fact that you can create a massive competitive advantage in your local marketing effort by doing these things consistently.
